Shrouded in mystery...

Once upon a time, forgotten... or may it be so. There simply isn't the room for the past by far, only what's beyond thy scope. With this new world, so mysterious and huge, where dost thy journey begin...?

 Non-RPable Characters (NPCs)
« Result #2 on Aug 31, 2003, 10:31pm »

Allllright, folks. Jeressa and I decided to make a nice, comprehensive list of all the characters in Bearers of Sorrow that you can't RP as and already have set stories. This list will be updated as more characters are revealed.

----------------------------

GENETRA CALLAS-mother of Amnestre. She's no fun.

GUNTHER CALLAS-father of Amnestre. He's dead....so no RPing for him.

ONITHAN, KING OF CHARAMAL-he's a King, why would you want to RP him? How boring...

SALAN-the "evil sorcerer" of the Dead Lands. I've recently worked a story out for him, so no touchy! :P
(It would be helpful if you just pretended like he wasn't there...he's MIA, anyways. ^__^;;; )

GRAND PRIEST, DROMA-again with the old people...no one wants to be a senile old man...

DUKE OF PHEROS-he's got some problem with Samee. No worries, I've got him covered.

THYION-you remember him, the stupid sorcerer who came to Samee and blackmailed her.

Oh yes, yes...no RPing gods or goddesses, either. Come on, we all have imaginations. Let's use them for once, ok?

 How to RP (**IMPORTANT!!!**)
« Result #4 on Aug 29, 2003, 8:33am »

Samee again. I think this is the most important thing of all. Without it, there would be no story! Hehehe...funny, I never thought to mention it before...*laughs nervously*

As you can see on the front page, each board has a specific city name. That board serves as the imaginary "cityscape." Everything that happens in a certain city must take place on that specific city board.

Which brings me to my next point. Say you want to start RPing. Great! After posting your character bio on the "Character Stats," you can now choose which city you want to start off in.

Once you make up your mind, (I won't rush you...^__^) start a new topic on that board and name it whatever you want that specific RP story to be called. Any events that take place within the same storyline are considered a "specific RP story."
------------------------

For example, say I wanted to start a new RP story. I name my story, in this case, I'll call it "Samee and Amnestre's Date."

I start the story as a topic on one of the city boards and start writing. (Remember that the title of your story goes in the "subject" bar when you start a new topic) Note that people are allowed to join in whenever they want. If you want to finish the RP story by yourself and without any other people adding in, be sure to mark the post as "personal" somewhere in the RP story title so we all know not to bother you.

Now, when your storyline moves to a new location, you start a new topic in the new city board with the same RP story name followed by a number telling us its chronology in your story. Say I want to move the location of the "Samee and Amnestre's Date" setting to the city of Nidea instead. I start the new topic on the Nidea board and call it "Samee and Amnestre's Date 2." (The number is there to help those who are reading your story to keep track of it and be able to read it all in order. Also, please keep the same story name so it isn't so confusing and we know that it's the same RP storyline you are continuing from.)

I think this is important, so I'll mention it. As long as you're writing for the same RP story on the same city board, don't start a new topic. If you want to add to the specific RP story, keep replying to the original topic until the story changes locations. That will keep things from getting cluttered.

It would also be nice if you could add a link to the next part of your story if your story changes locations to a new city board. The links will make reading the story easier.

Oh yes yes...no multiple stories going on at the same time, people. I dunno what universe your character comes from, but in this world, people can only be at one place at any given time. Also, if you've got an RP story going on, finish it before jumping into anyone else's. We don't want any character clones running about the board.

When your RP storyline is officially OVER, you can end your story topic and begin another. Please make sure you end your RP stories instead of abandoning them halfway to begin on new endeavors.

I know it sounds confusing. If you're still unsure, read some of the RPs that are going on now to get the idea of how things work. If that doesn't help and I am making absolutely NO sense to you, message me if you've got any questions.

After a week of traveling on foot (and by hitchhiking on merchant's wagons) Samee arrives in Nidea, the location of her next victim...err...job.

------------------------

"Name?"

"Samee."

"Last name?"

"None of your business."

The gate guard of Nidea eyes Samee suspiciously. Nidea is a city that lies far into the clouds, so visitors were stopped at the gate below and questioned before entering the city. Every person who does not live in the city (but wishes to visit) receives a stamp on their face telling everyone what their business there is. As a safety precaution, of course.

"And what is your business at Nidea?"

"Sightseeing."

"Sightseeing...?"

"Yeah, got a problem with that?"

"We can't let you into Nidea for that."

"No?" Samee asks, putting her hand on her hip and pouting her lips, "I'm on a mission, ok? I have to see every city in the world before I die, and at the rate we're going, I'm not going to accomplish that."

The gate guard is silent.

"You're making prejudiced sorcerer judgments about me. Yeah, I'm from Charamal, so what? That's unfair. Why, I should go to the Sorcerer's Council and tell them about this treatment. It's not like I was even hostile in the first place...?"

"But..."

"You Suuran mages are ALL THE SAME! And I thought you were trying to learn about the culture of Charamal so we could coexist in peace! I see that nothing has changed, since you're being biased towards an innocent Charamal citizen...?"

"Okay okay!" the guard mutters, waving his hand and giving Samee a magical stamp on her cheek that said "sightseeing" in mage-symbols. "Go in."

"You just saved yourself from a LOT of trouble!" Samee shouts, as she steps onto the raised platform covered in magical inscriptions. The gate guard looks annoyed and quickly waves his hand again. Samee vanishes and is transported to Nidea.

------------------------------

"Ehehehe..." smiles Samee as she walks into the city. Of course she had been to Nidea before, (twice, in fact) but that was for fun. This time she was here on business. She was lucky that the gate guard was new and didn't recognize her from before.

Samee walks over to a bench that sat parallel to a tree sprouting from a square of soil in the stone floor. She removed her wrapped sword (she usually wrapped her sword in cloth to prevent it from weathering) and leant it against the side of the bench while she dug in her pockets for the instructions Thyion gave her. Now where did that paper go...

"Aha!" Samee exclaims to herself as she draws the paper from her pants pocket. Some of the more conservative Nidean citizens hear her talking to herself and stare in disgust. But Samee doesn't care. Nope. She never paid much attention to how others perceived her, just her own well-being. That was how one survived as a wandering freelancer. And also why many people thought she was crazy.

The paper was fancy and Samee could tell it was made of pressed Guerda leaves, a leaf native to Kokoros only. The paper she held in her hand used three leaves to make; she could tell by looking at how the indentations and raised parts of the sheet joined together. This stuff must have been expensive...Samee thought, since she knew Kokoros would never allow the export of leaves from its forest. The leaves must have been stolen and sold on the infamous Suuranian black-market. The more she thought about it, the more this whole mission seemed wrong. Samee sighs and decides that once she finishes this job, she will beat the truth out of Thyion and how he could have possibly known about the events in Pheros...

"In the city of Nidea, you will come across a family that is respected immensely for their contributions to the Republic of Suuran..." Samee reads aloud from the sheet. "The father is dead, the mother is away, and now the son remains alone."

Samee stares at the paper, frowning.

"Goddammit! Stop making riddles already! SHIT!" she shouts, pounding the seat of the bench with her left hand. An elderly Nidean couple gives her a funny look as they walk by.

"Charamal bums..." mutters the old man, "They have no respect for the property of the Republic. They're crazy, they are. Talking to themselves and using foul language."

"We should have just closed our doors to them a long time ago..." sighs the old woman.

Samee looks at the elderly couple walk away with a sarcastic look on her face. When they are out of hearing distance, she continues to read.

"The address is..." Samee reads, but then realizes that she shouldn't be reading this part aloud. She reads to herself the rest of the letter.

Samee pockets the piece of paper and grumbles as she crosses her legs and stretches her arms. She slumps against the bench and hesitates to get up just yet...

------------------------------

Ten minutes later, Samee tells herself that she has to stop relaxing and start working. At least once this job was done, she'd get enough money to last her a long time. (Well, unless she goes on another shopping spree)

Samee gets up off the bench and takes her sword off the ground. She then attaches it to the back of her belt. It hung nicely across her legs. She begins to walk to the residence of the person she had to kidnap and kill for apparently no reason at all. The house was actually a short distance from the center of town, the location where the teleport gate below sent all travelers. The house was humongous, and Samee has to stop to admire the architecture of the building before doing some reconnaissance outside.

She looks around to make sure no one was looking, and then climbs over the outer wall. The outer wall was made of stone and separated the house from the rest of the city. Once Samee jumps down, she stays low to make sure no one would see her snooping around, and slowly makes her way to the window of the living room.

It was empty. Lots of fancy furniture and decorations could be seen, but no people. That was no good; she needed to check which room the person she sought was in. Samee grumbled and was about to peek through the kitchen window when she heard a voice from the other side of the glass.

"Palan!"

Samee lowers her head below the span of the window so she could remain hidden. She crouches below the window so she could continue to hear the conversation.

"Palan! Where are you?" cries some young girl with an annoyingly high-pitched voice.

"Lena, I'm in the kitchen," calls another woman with a deeper voice. She sounded like she was far away.

Samee hears the girl who entered the living room walk into another room, perhaps the kitchen. Samee got on all fours and crawled to the next window. She assumed this must be the kitchen.

"I want to take this box of wheat cakes to Master Amnestre," says Lena, thoughtfully, "He left just moments ago...do you think I can catch up with him?"

Damn, thought Samee. The boy she was commissioned to murder had left the house already. She leans against the wall to hear any other bits of relevant information the women might spew out.

"I think the Master is too far ahead of you now," says Palan, "If you decided this earlier, you might have been able to give the cakes to him."

"I wanted to say something earlier..." sighs Lena, "But I wasn't sure whether or not I should have bothered Master Amnestre by chasing him down and giving him the cakes. He's got a lot on his mind right now, and I'm sure he doesn't need me badgering him about giving cakes to his mother."

Palan chuckles. "Oh, I think there's another reason besides that..."

"Palan!" Lena exclaims, "What are you trying to say...?"

"Oh, nothing," mumbles Palan, fumbling with some sort of kitchenware and putting it away. Samee could hear wooden utensils being dropped into drawers in the kitchen.

"Palan, you're too much! I'm just worried for Master Amnestre, that's all!"

"Yes, yes dear," agrees Palan half-heartedly.

"You don't believe me!" accuses Lena.

"Of course not," admits Palan, "I know you've become quite obsessed with the young Master. Here, take the box and hurry. You might be able to catch up to him before he reaches the teleport station to Taellon if you run."

"Okay," says Lena, obviously surprised. Samee hears hurried footsteps rushing out of the kitchen and heading towards the front door. Seeing this as her chance, Samee jumps back over the wall and hides behind the corner to wait for Lena to come out and lead the way.

Finally, a young girl with a modest blue dress bursts out from the gate and runs down the street. Samee shadows Lena, hoping that she would be able to catch the boy in time. If not, he would be on his way to Taellon now...and there was no way Samee could catch him in there.

 A Stunning Proposal 2
« Result #6 on Aug 20, 2003, 9:35am »

Amnestre woke up with a sharp pain in his left temple. Headaches were common for him, but lately the pain had become centralized in one area, causing extreme and throbbing pain. No one ever said the life of a magic caster was easy. Spellcasting was not without its consequences, and frequent headaches were one of them. But of all the other mages that Amnestre had spoken to, none seemed to think his excessive pain was anything unusual to worry about.

Idiots. They should know that only high-level casters get pain this bad. And Amnestre was not a high-level caster, like his mother or the other mages on the Sorcerer's Council. No, he wasn't ready for that just yet. One more year of study and maybe he would try and apply for a higher-level version of his Darkness Mark and learn to use it. Of course, he also had his Lightning Mark, but he never liked that one much.

"Are you okay, Master Amnestre?"

Amnestre looks at the figure standing at the door to his room. (He has a huge room) He has to squint to see who it was calling to him from the door.

"Another headache, Master?"

Amnestre recognizes the voice as Palan, one of his maids.

"I'm fine," replies Amnestre, rubbing his eyes.

"Well, don't push yourself too hard," Palan says, "You are supposed to meet your mother in Taellon today."

Amnestre groans.

"Ahh, I completely forgot."

"That's okay, Master Amnestre. I'll get your robes ready."

-------------------------------

Amnestre's mother, Genetra, was always busy with her duties as a member of the Sorcerer's Council, so she never had much time to spend with her son. He has been alone for a majority of his life. Even when his father was alive, Amnestre didn't spend much time with him either. His father wasn't with the Sorcerer's Council, but he was Gunther Callas, the Lord of Caligra. Making sure a city ran smoothly took more of his father's time than his family did.

Amnestre's affinity for the Darkness Mark was inherited through his father. His mother is an ice mage, but Amnestre didn't inherit any of that from her. He acquired Lightning affinity all on his own.

-------------------------------

Palan laid Amnestre's trademark black robes on his bed as he freshened up in his bathroom. His robes had to be neat and unwrinkled, every time. Amnestre is a devout perfectionist.

"I've left the robes on your bed, Master," Palan yells from the room.

"Alright," replies Amnestre, washing his face. He always liked his face. It was so nice and milky smooth. If that wasn't a piece of art, he didn't know what was. Amnestre liked to thank the goddesses that he was born so perfect, unlike 99% of the rest of the world, who had been given the poor end of the bargain.

Amnestre went to his bed after fixing his fine, soft hair in the giant mirror in his private bathroom. He took the black silk robes and put them on carefully, making sure not to rip them. They were very delicate; a special garment made just for him from the tailors in Lethron. Just that one robe cost more than a small apartment in Nidea. But of course, he liked to remind everyone of that. Just so they'd know. :)

Breakfast was prepared for the young master downstairs by Palan and the rest of the maids. Amnestre could smell the lure of fine grain toast and apples.

"We've made some toast, wheat cakes, and baked apples for your breakfast, Master," said Lena, another one of his maids. She was younger than Palan, who was in her mid-thirties and had known Amnestre ever since he was born. No, Lena was only 17 and was quite taken with Amnestre. Not that he noticed, anyway.

"Thanks," yawns Amnestre, pulling out a fancy wooden chair to sit down. Lena poured him some juice while Palan and another maid opened his napkin for him and placed it on his lap.

"Today your mother is off work, right?" asks Lena, handing Amnestre his cup.

"Yeah. She doesn't get much time off from the Council," Amnestre confesses, drinking the juice and eyeing the sweet wheat cakes on the table.

"What did you have planned for the day?" asks Lena, smiling innocently.

"Not sure," explains Amnestre, "We might go and eat at a restaurant in Taellon, since we have to stay in the city."

"Oh, I see," says Lena, nodding with interest.

Amnestre takes some wheat cakes and places them on his plate. Then, using his fork, he pokes delicately into an apple slice and brings it to his mouth to bite on.

"I've a present for your mother, Master," Palan says, bringing out a small box from the kitchen. It is wrapped in a silver handkerchief. "These are the leftover wheat cakes. I know she'd like something natural to eat for once instead of all that junk-filled Taellon food. Please take this to her when you go to see her today."

"Alright," Amnestre nods, cutting open a wheat cake with his knife. Lena seemed mesmerized by how neatly the young master ate his food and didn't notice the other maids calling her from the kitchen to do the dishes.

Palan placed the box on the table and went back into the kitchen. Amnestre ate until he was semi-full, and then got up and stretched out his arms. It was never good manners to stuff oneself, Amnestre thought. That's why he never ate more than he needed to. He was sure Lena, Palan, and the other maids would finish up whatever he hadn't eaten for him.

Amnestre went back up to his room to get his staff. It was custom made in Caligra, and commissioned by his father as a graduation gift for his son. His father never lived long enough to give it to Amnestre on his day of graduation from the Temple of the Mihaelis. His mother picked it up and took it upon herself to give Amnestre his father's final gift.

The staff was exquisite. Made of pure gold, it was about four feet long and had rubies and other gemstones lining the sides. On the very top of the staff was a circular disc of opal and onyx. Since Darkness was Amnestre's forte, the staff was made to enhance his Darkness casting power. The opal circle at the top was meant to resemble a small moon. The moon was essential to a Dark mage's spell power.

Amnestre looked at himself in the mirror one last time before heading out.

"I'm leaving now!" he shouted, signaling the guards near his front door to open it for him.

Palan and the other maids come running out of the kitchen.

"Oh, alright Master Amnestre. Please take care," says Palan, wiping a plate with a rag.

"Do be careful along the way, Master..." says Lena, bowing.

"No need to worry about me," assures Amnestre, "I'll be fine. It's just a short walk to the teleport station, anyway."

"But it is all the way on the other side of the town," Lena says, "Be careful walking there, Amnestre. Once you get to Taellon, you'll be completely safe. But Nidea has become full of ruffians from Charamal lately. You never know what might happen..."

"I swear, they should put a barrier up on Nidea as well," complains Amnestre bitterly, "Taellon has their anti-magic barrier up, and look how safe that city is."

"Maybe you can bring that issue up with your mother when you go to see her," reminds Palan.

"Maybe I will," replies Amnestre, "It's really getting out of hand."

Amnestre walks out the door and past the two mage guards that stand on opposite sides of it.

"Goodbye!" shouts Lena, waving. Palan and the others come to the door to see him off.

"Goodbye," waves Amnestre.

Amnestre walks down the steps of his estate and out the large ivory gate separating his house from the streets. He continues along his way, walking briskly down the sidewalk and to the other side of town, to the teleport station.

"That boy is really something else," Palan sighs.

"He is," agrees Lena, "But I think he'll be fine walking by himself. Master Amnestre is a very powerful mage."

"No, not that..." says Palan, shaking her head. "He forgot the wheat cakes I packed for his mother. That boy has a one-track mind, I tell you..."

Lena giggles as the watches Amnestre's robes vanish into the crowd of faceless strangers.

 A Stunning Proposal
« Result #7 on Aug 10, 2003, 6:20am »

A few months have passed since Samee Flanberg made the Greenswill Inn her temporary home. She wakes up in the afternoon, drinks until the morning, and sleeps during the day. The exciting life of a wandering warrior is never without its quirks.

-------------------------------------------

"And then...and then!!! That's not all!!! You have to hear about how I defeated the monster of the Kinne Pass!"

The barkeeper rolled his eyes. Not this again. She'd always come down from her room, demand eggs, meat, and beer, and talk endlessly about her adventures. Not that they weren't exciting, just that she had a habit of repeating the same story over and over again...

"It was all big and hairy and eww. I drew my sword and insulted it repeatedly until it CAME AT ME."

Samee makes swinging motions with her arms. The barkeep cant help but chuckle as he watches her reenact the fight. He crosses his arms.

"And then what happened?" he asks.

"SMACK!!!!!" cries Samee, swiping the air with her sword arm. "He got a big gash...right on his face!!!"

She begins to laugh, amused by her own story. The barkeep watches as she guzzles the last of her beer. Samee was not totally drunk, but she was almost there. Her cheeks were bright pink. It was almost morning, and the bar was completely empty except for those two.

"Want another?" the barkeep asks, taking her empty glass away.

"Suuuuuure!" nods Samee, eating her eggs with her fingers. Samee always liked eggs.

The barkeep smiles and goes back to the counter to fill her glass again. Samee continues to eat her eggs. Suddenly, a loud clang is heard from the entrance of the bar. Samee jumps up from her seat. The barkeep turns around from refilling Samee's beer to look at the source of the loud noise.

A mysterious figure stands at the door to the bar. He wore a hooded blue cloak and carried with him a long metal staff, no doubt the instrument he used to get everyone's attention. The man was tall and had long golden hair that hung down from the opening of his cloak. He stepped inside, into the light, and took his hood off. He had a handsome face, Samee thought.

"Got any business here?" the barkeep asks.

"In fact, I do," the cloaked man replies, "I've got a proposal."

"Then you've got no business with me," the barkeep shrugs, "Perhaps you should talk with her."

The barkeep points to the woman in the corner of the bar. The cloaked man shifts his eyes to Samee, who is staring at him from her seat in the corner.

"Hmph," the cloaked man retorts after walking over to Samee's table, "You look like you're going to go dancing instead of fighting. I don't think you're up to my task."

Samee rests her leg on the seat adjacent to hers, making a banging noise as her shoes knock against the wood of the chair. She folds her arms and stares at the man.

"What do you know?" she asks, frowning, "To me, you look like you stole clothes out of a woman's dresser, but that's just me..."

The cloaked man cackles as he takes a seat across from Samee.

"Actually, I've come specifically for you," he says in a low voice.

"For me?" Samee asks, completely uninterested, "I don't take jobs from lazy Suuran nobles. Forget it. You wanna kill someone, do it yourself."

"Ahh, so you know..." the man says, leaning back against his chair. "Yes, I am from Suuran. My name is Thyion."

He offers his hand to shake. Samee stares at his hand and keeps her arms crossed. Thyion smiles coolly, pulls his hand back, and continues.

"And yes, I would like to hire you for your skills as an assassin. How bright you are," Thyion confesses.

"All of my jobs are carried out in Charamal," Samee replies, "There's no guarantee I can get away in Suuran. Too risky."

"But isn't risk a part of the job?" asks Thyion, "I would very much like for you to take my proposal."

"Nope," Samee counters, "I'm not doing it. Go find someone else."

Thyion laughs and leans toward Samee.

"I happen to know what happened between you and the Duke of Pheros..." he says in a low voice, "Perhaps you'd like to keep out of the Knight's hands?"

Samee looks surprised. No one knows about that except for her, the Duke, and...

"You're blackmailing me!" she huffs, taking her leg off the chair and sitting straight up. "How low is that?"

"Regardless of what tactics I may use to get you, I don't think I'm doing anything 'low.' Nothing as bad as what you did, of course."

"I can't believe this!" shouts Samee, looking off in another direction to try and figure out what to do. She just didn't want to make eye contact with that stupid man...

"Everything all right?" asks the barkeep from the counter. He was wiping the clean glasses and putting them on the shelves. Apparently, he didn't bring her beer to the table because he wanted to stay out of her business.

"It's fine!" assures Samee. The barkeep nods and goes back to wiping the glasses.

"You are such scum, you sorcerers..." growls Samee, "I'll do your job, but for a price."

"But of course," the man grins, "I can't hire you without giving you compensation."

"Heh."

"200,000 gold coins for the kidnapping, another 100,000 for the murder," Thyion suggests.

"Kidnapping?" asks Samee.

"Yes, I can't expect you to kill this person right where you find them. I want you to take this person out of the city and then kill them," the man replies.

"Fine."

"When the job is done, I'll meet you back here in two weeks with your money. If the job is not finished, you can expect the Charamal Knights to find you shortly," explains Thyion.

"And? Who am I killing here?"

The cloaked man hands her a paper with a description on it. He then gets up, bows, and leaves the bar without making a sound. Samee looks at the paper for a while. What a way to end her unemployment streak...

-------------------------------------

"Leaving already?" the barkeep asks, "Why not wait until daylight?"

Samee slings her pack over her shoulder and pays the barkeep for her stay.

"Nope," she shakes her head, "I've gotta get going. Or I'll miss my chance."

"Well, okay. Hopefully we'll be seeing you again soon..."

"Yeah."

Amnestre Callas
Age: 22
Height: 5'6
Weight: 138
Hometown: Taellon
Class: Mage
Weapon: Golden staff
Magic: Darkness, Lightning

Amnestre Callas is the son of a wealthy and renowned sorceress from Taellon. His mother, Genetra Callas, is one of the members of the Suuran Sorcerer's Council. While his mother lives in Taellon and handles important business, Amnestre lives in a house in Nidea. He complained so much about Taellon being too loud and busy that his mother finally gave in and bought him a house in the floating city so that he could have some peace and quiet.

As you can already tell, Amnestre is horribly spoiled and even more horribly conceited. His wealthy family has always been treated with respect and as a young boy; Amnestre let that go to his head. He also was the top of his class at the Temple of the Mihaelis, mastering both the Mark of Darkness and the Mark of Lightning. Young mages-in-training at the temple are given only one Mark to master, but Amnestre mastered two at the same time. His superiors were so impressed with him, they made him a sorcerer years before he was supposed to graduate. It doesn't help at all that his mother is so nice that she buys him whatever he wants. That, coupled with his talents in magic, has made him the egoistic creature he is today. He has no doubts in his mind that he is a prodigy.

Amnestre's father died when Amnestre was off learning magic at the Temple of the Mihaelis. It is said that he was murdered by bandit men from Charamal who were looking to rob him. Amnestre has always hated the poor, impoverished people of Charamal, but this only secured his prejudice and hatred of the ignorant people. The poor are like animals to him, especially since they are not from Suuran and not magic users. Amnestre thinks that people who can't use magic must be incredibly retarded.

Among the people of Suuran, Amnestre is popular and somewhat of an icon among the young sorcerers. Of course, he enjoys his fame and fortune and truly believes that money can buy happiness. Why not? He's got loads of it and he's the happiest guy in the world. There is nothing that Amnestre cannot get, and when there is something he wants, he doesn't hesitate to spend unbelievable amounts of money to get it. And though he has loads of friends, he prefers to stay away from them most of the time. After all, he needs alone time to praise and pamper himself for his greatness.

*scoffs* Why should I have a stupid signature? What, is this space for advertising or something? In that case, I have no business having one.

Name: Samee Flanberg
Age: 28
Height: 5'7
Weight: 143
Hometown: Unknown
Class: Freelancer (warrior)
Weapon: One slender double-edged long sword, one slender silver knife
Magic: Fire Mark (but can't use it right)

Samee Flanberg is a wandering warrior who lives life day by day. Though she is sarcastic and always has some kind of witty comment to make, she is really friendly and likes to help people in need. Anyone who can get past her cynical exterior is worthy of her friendship and assistance. Because of her uncompromising urge to travel at her heart's whim, she is notorious for being unable to keep relationships, (in love and friendship) and has a habit of leaving people as soon as the mission is done and without saying goodbye. She does work with people if it means having greater chances to accomplish her goals, but she truly prefers to work alone. Her motto? "There's no 'I' in 'team,' but there is an 'M' and an 'E.'"

When confronted about her past, she is unusually quiet. Apparently, something happened between her and a Charamal official that has labeled her a criminal. Charamal is currently in a state of chaos, so she can still wander wherever she wants and not have to worry about getting caught. As long as she doesn't bring any attention to herself, that is. It's best not to ask her about her past...you'll get no answer. Perhaps if someone were to stay around her for a long enough time, they'd be able to figure out her secrets. ...Maybe.

Her hobbies include kidnapping, fencing, and drinking excessively. She really has no purpose in life except to keep herself occupied. She slays monsters and takes on missions not because she wants to be a hero, but because she doesn't want anyone else to take on the jobs and do them wrong. She can't stand to see people failing, so she prefers to do everything herself to ensure success. Strange woman...

This is the story...of a girl named Samee...
« Result #10 on Aug 5, 2003, 2:20pm »

"The Greenswill Inn is pretty lonely today. Hell, it's been pretty lonely for the past couple months. Sure, when things were getting worse, I got a lot of work. But now, things are just so terrible that no one cares anymore. Why hire ME to kill that guy who owes you money...when you can do it yourself? Terrible times, I tell you.

My name is Samee Flanberg, a 28-year-old nomad. I've been on my own as long as I can remember. I've wandered as far as Caligra in Suuran and even saw the Indeora borders once. I'm originally from Charamal, but living there is like suicide now. I've had a run-in with a very high authority in there and I've been on the run since. They're looking for me alright, but they're not going to go out of their way. It's not like I killed anyone. But that's not important. What's important isn't what happened before, but what's going to happen now. Yes!

I'm really bored...This is the fifth drink I've had today. I'm betting the barkeeper thinks I'm some kind of drunk. I just want something to do. I live to live! That's me. My life will be considered worthless unless I visit EVERY town in the entire world...twice.

But traveling is difficult when you've got no money. And I've got none. Help meeee. I'm pretty good with a sword. I've got one right here. Magic missions are another story, though. Giving me a Mark is like...like...wanting to die very horribly. I usually work alone, but I assure you I can get the job done! Just give me something to do, pleeeeeeeeeeeease. *desperate*

................*sighs*

Barkeeper, give me another beeeer...it's gonna be a while."
